Phagien Profile

Phagien is the gruff, no-nonsense Commander of the macrophage corps. If Blastor’s B-Cells are the Army Infantry, then Phagien’s troops are the Marines. They get the toughest jobs, and are often called into battle with the B-Cells when the stakes are high.

Like the warriors that fight under him, he is only truly at peace when he is ripping and tearing an enemy to shreds, reducing it to component parts. But unlike them, he must always be in control, never giving himself over fully to bloodlust. Someone must ensure their frightening ability to wreak havoc is properly directed. Someone has to make sure warriors like Scathe don’t indulge their instincts at the cost of victory.

That doesn’t mean he isn’t willing to butt heads with his B-Cell rival, Blastor. In fact, Phagien encourages the rivalry that exists between his forces and Blastor’s, causing friction but also, in Phagien’s mind, making both groups more battle-ready.

And that is always the name of the game for him. Phagien’s renowned as a brutal but effective taskmaster; there are no easy promotions from Micro to Macrophage under his tutelage. It’s his job to harness their chaos… and his own.
